I came to Coventry as a student myself, and my first room was cold, half-furnished and let by someone I could never reach. When I later had a spare room of my own to let, I decided it would be the opposite of that: furnished properly, cleaned before anyone arrived, and managed by a person who picks up the phone.
Word travelled. Students told their friends, landlords asked whether I could look after their properties too, and Keynest Stays grew out of that one room into a small team looking after homes across the city.
Every room we hand over is one I would be happy to move into myself. That is the only standard we have.
